Give. Receive. Empower.
Everyone deserves the chance to live with confidence, independence, and dignity. Sometimes, all it takes is a small helping hand to make that possible.
Fraser Coast Low Vision & Blind Community Hardship Fund
Our inaugural fund was created to support individuals in the Fraser Coast region who are living with vision loss and experiencing financial hardship.
This fund provides up to $500 per person, once per year, to assist with practical needs such as mobility aids, assistive technology, transport to medical appointments, counselling, or essential support services.
Australian Low Vision & Blind Community Hardship Fund
It is not an ongoing subsidy — it is a helping hand when support can make a real and immediate difference.
We are proud to extend this support nationwide through our Australian Low Vision & Blind Community Hardship Fund.
This fund offers the same one-off assistance — up to $500 per person, once per year — to eligible individuals across Australia who are navigating both vision loss and financial hardship.
Because no one should have to choose between essential support and financial strain.
How to Apply
If you or someone you know needs support, simply email us to request the application form and guidelines.
Applications are confidential and carefully assessed to ensure funds reach those who need them most.
How You Can Help
These funds exist because of generosity.
Every donation — large or small — directly supports someone living with vision loss to access the tools, services, or support they need to live well.
All donations will receive a formal receipt, and your contribution will make a meaningful and immediate impact.
A little truly can go a long way.
When you give, you empower.
When someone receives, they regain confidence.
Together, we build independence, dignity, and community.
How We Fund These Initiatives
Live Well With Vision Loss actively fundraises to sustain and grow our hardship funds.
We host awareness-driven events that bring the community together while promoting understanding, inclusion, and support. These include documentary showcases such as The Blind Sea, community networking events, and our renowned Dinner in the Dark experiences.
Dinner in the Dark is a fully immersive and interactive event. Guests dine blindfolded, engaging their senses of taste, texture, sound, and connection in a powerful awareness-building experience. With live auctions, guided sensory moments, storytelling, and open conversation woven throughout the evening, the entire event is designed to create genuine insight into the realities of vision loss in a safe and supported environment.
These events not only raise vital funds — they build empathy, spark meaningful dialogue, and strengthen community connection.
Because when people truly experience perspective, they become part of the change.

Image wise for this section it would be great to include some from the dinner in the dark, maybe the image of me holding the microphone talking to the audience, one from the Blind Sea screening and mini expo etc. Anything that kind of makes this page pop and enhances the word wording.
