About
Meet Joanne Cabot — Founder and President of Live Well With Vision Loss, and the Vision Loss Warrior.
Joanne (Jo) has lived with lifelong vision loss, including high myopia and myopic macular degeneration, and she embodies everything about living well with vision loss - resilience, independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
Through Live Well With Vision Loss, she creates awareness, provides practical support, and shares education for everyone affected by vision changes, whether newly diagnosed, managing long-term low vision, or supporting someone they love.
The charity also provides two hardship funds – one for Australians and one for the Fraser Coast — helping people access vital support during challenging times. Products, tools, and practical advice from the organisation further help people feel seen, safe, and confident in their everyday lives.
Joanne also believes in the power of connection and community. Through events like Dinner in the Dark, indoor skydiving, networking activities, and other sporting and social experiences, she brings people together to support, inspire, and celebrate one another. Her mission is to show that vision loss does not define life, and that with guidance, wellbeing, and community, anyone can live confidently, fully, and without limits.
Because vision loss doesn’t define life – confidence, community, and wellbeing do.
